Yo Joe!...Yo NO!??

Well this afternoon I was lucky enough to be able to see Dave, Drew and Samantha while they were in town. I also accompanied Shane and Mike as well to go see G.I. Joe -Rise of the Cobra..For about the first half hour I was actually thinking it was viewable, but then came the CGI and action scenes then it was all downhill from there..It was as if Stephen Sommers was at the toilet dry heaving but inevitably spewing the rest of the movie..Just a joke..Now Im not mad, I mean loved the toys and cartoons but should I be surprised that this was given to a director who gave us Van Helsing..Now I did enjoy Mummy 1 & 2 but is that to mean I'm supposed to think this was to be a miracle just shat out of Sommers eyes..The gizmo's and gadgets and cool weaponry was neat but that still doesn't allow them to defy the laws of gravity, at least in my eyes..Well at least I didn't watch it by myself..

Pre-Pre season Question???

Do you think Brett Farve will join the Vikings?
If so will they be just like the Jets last year or better or worse?
And for a little fun, how high would that T.V. rating be for the Monday night game
between the Vikes and Pack if Farve is the Q.B?..Ahh so many questions..

Movie Talk continued....

Well I figured I would add to the movie trivia, after reading Troy's, Jon Peddie,Shane, and Jason's blogs..So here goes it!!

What is the first film you ever saw?

The first movie I remember watching is Ghostbusters..As a kid my parents did try somewhat to guideline what we watched. So the obvious was to watch some films over and over again.I loved the car with all the flashing lights and sirens, the proton packs and ghost of course..Which probably answers the next question.

What is your favorite film of all time?

I loved Ghostbusters growing up..I would wear out the VHS tapes, had the action figures and the Ghostbuster birthday parties(As a kid of course)There really isn't much to explain why, just loved it as a kid and will continue to..

What is your favorite line in a film?

"Bunch of slack jawed faggots around here!..This stuff will make you a god damn sexual tyrannosaur, just like me! --Predator

What film made you realize that film was an art?

Most will think this is weird but I'm going to say The Professional..Gary Oldman is so sadistic in what he does, yes he is a corrupt cop and kills whomever gets in his way but he makes you understand why he does it..Then of course Jean Reno who kills for money(No women,No children)yet I was happy when he was blowing people away..It was my first film seeing the bad guy do something good yet still die, paying for his sins in a way I guess..

What movie do you consider your guilty pleasure?

Major League-Nothing like Charlie Sheen with a mowhawk throwing heat baby!!
I make a point to watch it before that start of every MLB season."Damn, Ive been cut already?!"-Wesley Snipes

Who is your favorite movie character of all time?

Robert De Niro in HEAT..His planning for robberies and the way he ruled his "gang"with an iron fist..

What is your favorite movie snack food?

Sour Patch Kids-Soda and sour patch kids is all I need..

Who is your favorite director?

Favorite is a strong word with this topic I think..I enjoy and look forward to Michael Bays movies, Peter Berg as well..Now I know they have made ones I don't like but I cant think of a director who's films I have all loved..I like these 2 alot because I know what to expect action wise..Most recently Transformers and The Kingdom, just movies I enjoy watching but not winning Oscars obviously..

Who is the most impressive filmmaker working today?

Christopher Nolan--I could be wrong but his last 3 were Batman Begins, The Prestige, and The Dark Knight..He is doing something right..

What quality do the best directors share?

The score!!..Alot of films have been ok to me but their music score is awesome so I get the feel of what the tension is during that scene or just gives the film a better feel or pace of where its going..

Who is your favorite actor/actress of all time?

Kurt Russell--I have enjoyed his movies ever since I saw him in "Big Trouble in Little China"..He also stars in my favorite western "Tombstone"

Who is your favorite actor/actress working today?

I know its going to be laughed at but I like Brad Pitt. Really looking forward to Inglorious Basterds..Others I think who will do good are Shia LeBouf and Emile Hirsch..

Who would you cast in a film about your life?

I guess Paul Walker?..I welcome other suggestions though..

Finish these sentences:

If you could remake one movie...Indiana Jones 4, Catwoman..X-Men 3..For some reason I see myself saying this about G.I. Joe as well...

I never wanna watch a movie with..Mothers who find it necessary to bring their 10 and under kids to Rated R horror films..

The perfect movie is...one that never gets old , no matter how many times you watch it..

Lionheart...umm I mean Fighting...

Last week I watched the movie Fighting, starring Channing Tatum and Terrance Howard..I was actually looking forward to it mainly because knew the story line and had recently watched "A Guide to Recognizing your Saints"..It directed by the same guy Dito Montel..Grant it as much of the bare knuckle fighting that happened you would have broken hands for a month..lol..It was innocent fun to watch on screen, though I still give the edge to Lionheart..the great JCVD..

Awww Pretty kitty....

So I was surfing around the net this morning and came across this pic of Kevin Richardson..I take it he works at zoo-like establishment in South Africa that helps nurture and raise "wild"animals..Then release them back into the wild more capable of surviving than before..He said it was really hot and Meg the lioness loves to swim!!..Some people want to swim with dolphins, others want to go on Safaris..I would love to be able to do this!!...I never would obviously because one I do not want to be mauled and the other, Iam not a trained and seasoned behaviourist.
"You get in and start swimming and the next thing you know there's a full grown lioness beside you doing doggy ...ummm I mean.... lion paddle towards you."...(Quote from the man above)

Looking forward to a bloody good time....

I watched the trailer for this the other day on Yahoo!..I'm sure alot people wont care for it because Tarantino is attached but whatever..It looks bloody and i love revenge type payback movies..Below is a quick synopsis from comingsoon.net....

"Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as "The Basterds," Raine's squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own"...

Super Bowl is set...

Well I am sure at the start of the season , no one thought these 2 teams would be playing on Feb.1 unless you cheered for them..But obviously they are both deserving so..It should be fun to watch or its going to blow big time..I'm not hoping for the latter,Pittsburgh's "D" vs. Arizona's high flying passing game..Something will give?..Just a matter of who, or when first?..My guess Steelers 24 Cardinals 21..Let me know what YOU think?

Recently watched movies....

Last night i was fortunate enough to watch Repo: The Genetic Opera!..I had not even heard of it until Phil showed me a trailer of it a couple of days ago..It used to be I wouldn't even give shows with singing a chance until I started watching them with Jason..(Phantom of the Opera,RENT) So I gave it a shot and enjoyed it..I like Anthony Head from the Buffy TV series alot and it was fun to watch and not long at all..Gore and killing with a little singing never hurt anyone and this one wont disappoint..

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"

Definitely classified as a time piece..Yea it was long but i prepared myself going in..So I'm not one of those douschebags who know a movie is 3 hours long and come out saying "Oh my god it was so long"!!..I never read the book but the movie was interesting to me at least..There were some parts that had the Forrest Gump feel to them which I didn't like but other than that was pleased to have gotten a chance to watch it..I like Brad Pitt so this could be a bias assumption of the movie though..lol..Gives you a sweet but harsh outlook on life and death and how it can be perceived by some people..I give it a generous 3.5 out 5 stars for me ...
